Still Young Poem by Peak to Peek

Still Young

Still Young

I was working the other day and just happened to glance out the window, there you were
Standing near the boat in your yard, wearing a skirt, not to short as in years past
The beauty is still in your face, I look at you and see traces of youth, the truth, your still so beautiful
Looking and seeing age in your face, your gray hair, but when I look closely your youth still appears
Maybe it's only to me, others might not see. Maybe, it's because I'm aging, I don't know
Sharing this insight that I know is in other's brain, the difference they never capture their thoughts, like a passing train, they see but it goes by
Not me, I write and want you to know even though your older now, your still beautiful
Your face is like a finely woven piece of art. It shows the age, the grace, but if you look closely it still shows traces of your youth
Let me write this before I forget and let me tell you this so there will never be any regret
Just watching you through the window as I work captures this incredible moment
My words are a picture and before I resume my work, watching you leave the yard, walking back into the house
I must just sit here, on this couch, in awe!
What a moment!
