Stole From The Night Poem by John Zeller

Stole From The Night

I draw my sword to slice open the sky
Stars pouring in then pushing the tides
I'm on the edge, starlight running over my feet
Arms spread wide not a question of defeat
I close my eyes to summon my sisters and brothers
They appear beside me on stallions and tigers
They ride with me to the end of the earth
Where they will die with me in hopes of rebirth
Starlight now saturates all of the sands
Oceans have vanished and took back by the land
My sisters and brothers drowning tonight
In one million stars I stole from the night
