Stone's Throw Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

Stone's Throw

Life mimes death,
playing parties entreat everyone's parting breath;
transmutes compassionate demagogue,
now anserine fool inwreathe;
living's character tortured form,
simplistic goats, should read Karl Barth;
essence absent from each birth,
truncated beings, upon earth murth.

Definitive brute, true human nature,
all characteristics proved supposititious;
logical assumption, thinking thus,
humankind and beast synonymous;
conclusions, myth or argument,
truth, hides within flesh subcutaneous;
hypocritical, minds deep set,
reactions of every mind shown, ultroneous.

Squandered, is one's time clocked life,
soul's bleed of waste and entity;
humaneness, indisposed idiosyncrasy,
diabolically proven, our true identity;
utopian consciousness, jus soli,
life frivolous conscionable abnormity;
precipitation ponders humanity's demise,
tasty yes, living's acetosity.

Worldlings corrupt preponderance,
weighs heavily upon life's succession;
intransigency their requiem,
groups conscience, internalized regression;
accelerates despondence in mind's divine,
unquestioned, is Earth's repossession;
desolation ruled as right,
world mindset rues, acute psychotic depression.

Intrepidly, of open palm,
each soul chooses thought to throw as stone;
persistently, angst angers stir,
mind reverbs hate as communal pure tone;
pityingly perhaps, stones strike rives,
one's incorporeality overthrown;
posthumously, targeting thud resounds,
stone's throw, reaps life resown.
