Stop! Poem by GodBody O.G

Stop!

Screams cut the dark and rip through the light
in a neighborhood plagued by fear it's never a good night
a woman tears at her attacker begging for her life
she finally gives up as he brandishes a rusty knife
a family sleeps unaware of the approaching dangers
the car speeds away after the occupants empty their chambers
a young hustler deals his product to those dieing
only thing on his mind is the baby at home crying
a police officer patrols the area he once called home
locking up old friends trying to make the block safe to roam
a mother worries nightly as her son runs the streets
you can hear her everynight, to God is who she speaks
these are just some characters found in the ghetto play
while so many of you try to emulate the ghetto way
STOP! ! !
you live in places like Spring Hill be happy you have it good
because given just one day, you'd never survive the real hood
