Stopping Poem by Christina Simmons

Stopping

Rating: 5.0

It's good to be alive
So lovely to be breathing again
How fabulous it is to feel the air
The fresh air blowing against my face
The wind so peaceful and soothing
I want to carry on with this feeling
Eternally stopping with me

The sound is pleasing blowing softly
Whispering gentle music in my ear
Making me feel nice!
Letting me know I'm not alone
This breeze is here for me
Reassuring me I'm secure! I'm safe!
I'm doing alright!

I can hear her wings spreading wide
Welcoming me home
Smiling with puff up cheeks - little dimple on either side
I can't stay here! Go back!
I'm reminded I'm only here for a short while

So potable and purified I want to live on
I want to stop over with the wind
Feeling her cooling breeze forever.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Coming to the awareness of not having a say into my existence. Just live each day as it is with no questions asked. The words came to me after I had a dream. When I woke up put pen to paper. We all have a role to play, you may not feel contented with your part because we always think the grass is greener on the other-side, desire what the next man has.
