Stranded Under Spotted Skies Poem by Amy Michelle

Stranded Under Spotted Skies

The air is quiet
The moon is bright
The trees illuminated by the starry darkness
I watch my breath leave my body as smoke
My nose red my fingers covered
I've been here hours
But I'm still waiting
Waiting for a sign
A glimpse of you
Anything
Tears try to fall
But they can't
Is it the cold? Or is it something else?
I'm still waiting I'm still here but you aren't
You promised you would come
But you never did, you never tried
Tears try to fall
But they can't.
And now I know exactly why my dear
It's because you've changed
And now, so have I.
