Strange Days: Today's Diary Poem by The MadLad

Strange Days: Today's Diary

Rating: 3.0

i.

Today I saw a monk crying,
A child smiling by his side.
While the cherry sun dawning
brought joy to the eyes.

Today I saw a lady laughing,
A man committing no crime.
While a cool breeze's blowing,
(And) silence was on the rise.

Today I heard the Devil singing,
God playing the guitar.
While an empyrean storm ushered
in to the tunes of pandemonium.

Today I heard mankind mourning -
For a love forever gone.
As rain came pouring down,
with the promise of a new dawn.

ii.

Today I saw an old man sleep,
Angels and demons watching by.
As the dreams broken and lost,
found a way to come alive.

Today I saw a vagabond dancing,
A bird flying high.
As a desert rose in faraway land
Imbued beauty into life.

Today I heard a mother screaming,
A young 'un with eyes closed.
While time kept rolling -
Fate churning his songs.

Today I heard a hero speaking,
His disciples clapping loud.
While truth like an echo -
in the land of lies, didn't belong.

iii.

Today I felt nothing.
Nothing, nothing, and nothing.
All the feelings, taste and colors,
Love, laughter and tears,
in a black-hole disappeared.
And all that prevailed -
was emptiness.
A divine silence.
Blissful solace.
