Stranger Poem by Jan Valdez

Stranger

Don’t know who you are
Don’t know why you’re here
Don’t know if the view of sunset
In this bridge is clear
Don’t even know where this is ending
But for me, this is my start

Not sure if you notice me
But for now you’re all I see
Not sure if you hear me
But for now my heart has a louder plea
Not even sure if you could ever love me
But I’ve engaged the doubt already
Cause simply standing here with you
Restarts my frozen heart
Just staying here with you
I’M ALIVE

If you don’t want to cross the bridge, that’s fine
I’m not after making you mine
Let me stay, that’s all I ask
Even if only for this one moment
Will my life last
