Student Teacher Caught Replies Poem by Terence George Craddock

Student Teacher Caught Replies

Rating: 5.0

hark is caught the lark
or is it destined to slip free
from this net of apparent capture?

teacher's eyebrow raises
head tilted to one side
has she caught phantom whispers?

comments soft conversations
will always stalk classroom silences
phantoms cross lessons discussions with ease...

softly she pounces ''Are you listening? '
'you looked distracted' flexes an eyebrow
'I'm listening' 'thinking' student caught replies...

in a few simple words
without apology
student justifies

inattention with contemplated
reasoning slips free
of net teacher's displeasure...
