Such A Sad Life Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Such A Sad Life

Once it was June with roses in bloom.
Once she was 'all' to him, even his moon.
But now every hour, he sits home alone
Anxiously waiting to answer the 'phone.

Night after night she is with a new beau.
She, who was born twenty-one years ago.
Courting another...how could it be?
Oh what a plight - he'd lost her you see.

He searched everywhere for his lady so fair
Crying now and then in his old rocking chair.
For in sunny weather, at the seafront they'd meet
And life was complete, hand in hand with his sweet.
