Suicide Chronicles Poem by Wicked Pissah

Suicide Chronicles

Geraldine asked me, if you had the choice, how would you prefer to die?
I'd prefer to die in my sleep, I replied.
she handed me a bottle of jack daniels and an rx bottle full of lunesta.
good night, she said.
good night, baby.
I cracked the seals.

Geraldine asked me, if you wanted to kill yourself, how would you do it?
a bottle of jack daniels and an rx bottle of lunesta, I answered.
so, you'd kill two birds with one stone then, she said.
yes on both counts, I answered. intoxication and induced sleep.
they're both black. black crepe.

Geraldine asked me, do you fear the journey?
only the first step, I answered.
then what? she asked.
the rest is the journey, I offered.
I see. so that’s it, she said.

Geraldine asked me if I had anything meaningful to add.
I said, in all honesty, there are those who dare take the extra step beyond life. they recognize the limits of self and mortality and seek to conquer both.
where others skate to the edge and turn back, I pass the edge
and achieve immortality.

she said, that's insightful.
weird, but insightful.
thank you, I replied.
what else do you have to offer,
her dark, speckled eyes asked.
Those dark eyes.

I looked around at my settings.
is that a bottle of jack daniels
on the table and an rx bottle of lunesta on the shelf?
we were in her bed. spooning.
blossoming. both dying.

yes, they are, she answered.
well, good night then, I ventured.
good night, she replied.
she was sincere.

her skin was soft and tight,
her skin was beautiful
and chalky white.
pale blue veins.

Geraldine soon joined me.
together, we slipped.
my hand on her hip,
I never left her side.

next morning,
we slept in. eternal sleep.
we had killed two birds
with one stone.

Not like something i've read before. What's the backstory on this? It leaves me curious to know, and who Geraldine is to you. Post more!
