Sundered Plights Poem by Jubril Balogun

Sundered Plights

There is a Moon In my sky
Peeping through an assembly of clouds
Standing aloof of starry sights.
Distinct, even in her sundered mount.

There is a smile behind my sighs
Hinged onto days of yore gone by
Even fleeting moments dares no compare
Wrapped in bliss of wonted care.

There is a beat in my heart
A Symphony perfected through time
Would that my throat could breathe the words
Would that Fate undo the hurt

There is a Rose in my Mind
Thorned by delicacies of Faith
Thence came a Gardener with Focused gaze
My Rose he pruned, ablazing the mind.

My nights are rid of bliss
My hearts absent it's beats
My mind in worry clings
Save for a smile I once cherished.
Breaking through momentary sighs
