'Sunflowers Of My Soul' Poem by Melissa Salerno

'Sunflowers Of My Soul'

Bright as the sun
Black as the night
My heart mourns silently
This just isn't right

My legs are weak
I've grown so cold
My heart cries out
I need someone to hold

Slowly I turn away
Like the wilting of a flower
Can this mended?
I wait hour after hour

Can you take my hand?
I mean can I just walk away?
I want to talk to you
Lets just take it day by day

Like the sunflowers of my soul
Can it really wait?
It seems like the days are over
Am I wilting away? Is it too late?
