Sunlight That Fades Poem by Raj Arumugam

Sunlight That Fades

sunlight that fades
vast over the horizon
like a spread
of jam and marmalade;
sunlight that fades
gentle on the skin
and kissing my eyes;
sunlight that fades
and goes to another world
like a traveler boarding a plane -
you’ll return tomorrow,
and we’ll love and struggle again
another day,
another life, another fading

Rory - I looked at the poem in light of your comment about jam and marmalade. Jam and marmalade suggests certain colors and also links with breakfast so I'll leave the words. I'm grateful to you for inviting me to take a more critical look at my poem.

Some beautiful words reflecting beautiful thoughts. I just find the reference to jam and marmalade a bit out of place in a poem of this nature.
