Often times I notice
That when life is just too much
Many folks must escape reality
So they choose to embrace a crutch
They seem to not know how
To face life’s constant defeats
To take hold of their daily life
And land steady on their feet
So sadly they escape
In a self-defeating direction
With a bottle or a pill
Or another toxic selection
Life’s a challenge; it’s a trial
And we have to play along
Even when so many times
We’re not sure where we belong
But God is waiting patiently
Though we may not realize
If we knew how much He loves us
We’d be anxious for the sun to rise
We must stop and realize
Our direction is not our fate
If we don’t like what we see
We can change the way it’s shaped
We can put sunshine in our life
With whatever we truly enjoy
Let the sadness turn to happiness
So each day will be a joy!
