Surrender Poem by Jayne Doe

Surrender

Running blind
In a field of mines
I'm still whole
Though I feel
Like a million pieces
Scattered 'round
Beyond the ground
And out of reach

Tell me why
I should try
To find my
Shattered soul
When all it does
Is hurt me

Is it not safer here
With all my fears
Circling around me
But never, ever entering
This place
I call home?

I've opened
The door before
Burnt by the sun
Blown away by the wind
Drenched in the rain
Seeing nothing but grey
Feeling nothing

Nothing

Tell me why
I should try
When all I get
Is nothing
