Sweet Poem by Chasity Dorsey

Sweet

Stories have wept inside of me, like currents,
like small waves of swollen guilt.

I am a Child, again.
Sweet and nutured,
and forgotten.

Sweet pity, sweet lips...
sweet gentleness.
I am yours, lost in you,
lost in time, short, sweet time.

Can you breathe inside of me?
Just so I can feel you for a sharp, sweet instant...
knowing that, that one moment will soon be gone.
I know you.
And I know lies, sweet, tender lies.
They hide me, until I've become a sweet, gentle fool.
