Sweet And Tart, A Delicious Lime Poem by William Jackson

Sweet And Tart, A Delicious Lime

Rating: 5.0

Restless and bored. What to do?
Plant more vegetables? No, I have grown tired of the garden.
In summer's heat it withers even now. Squash is through.
Take a mistress? Clearly my heart would harden!

A clandestine lover, a terrible sin! Even so, in desire I want her still!
Why should she want me? Sex only fleeting, and where is the time?
Wickedly good, it would make me grin despite relationships kill.
Even now, conscience pricked, I can taste you, sweet and tart a delicious lime.

Not what I expected from the title Its many years since I visited San Antone but Key lime pie is a favoured memory. Our english summer has disappeared under rain clouds this year
