Sweet Little Icy Bird Poem by Marilyn Lott

Sweet Little Icy Bird

Rating: 5.0

Oh my dear, such iciness
Took cold to the bone
I saw a sweet little bird
Sitting on a branch alone.

I think a tweet could not
Escape from his beak
With ice all around him
Some warmth he must seek.

If only I could take him
Into my toasty house
Every critter should be inside
A bird, a bug, a mouse.

Thick ice encased the branches
To be outside was absurd
I snapped a picture quickly
Of this sweet little icy bird.

Beautiful picture! Did you really take it yourself? You must have some very good photography equipment to get such a great picture. I can recognize many species of birds, as I have feeders in my back yard, and a book called BIRDS OF UTAH. This particular bird, I do not recognize. Can you tell me what it is? By the way, great poem as well!

No, I didn't take it, Kim. But I do have bird feeders and enjoy them so much. Cannot get close to them, however, not like this! Thank you so much.
