Swimming, First Practice

I went really fast
I realized
Swimming is my sport
I realized
I just have
to work at
it
I realized
That's where I
belong
I'm not there
just
for friends
I'm there for the
sport
and the
pride
and
the competition
and the
element
of water
and
the fact that
It's part of
who I am

Wake the better soul, that slumbered,
To a holy, calm delight;

Ere the evening lamps are lighted,
