Tables Poem by Hillary Unknown

Tables

The tables have turned
And I see what I do
If I’m anything like her
I’m surprised I still have you

She’s clingy and whiney
And she bails so fast
“He doesn’t care about me”
How does she expect anything to last?

I know that I’m her
At least sometimes
But unlike her
I know not to cross lines

I know when you care
Whether you say it or not
The fact that you put up with me
Says it a lot

I love you
For never giving up on me
You’re my best friend
And I hope you never leave

For Corey, my best friend
