Tagore Song (293) Once, You My Dear Sat On The Root Of My Own Tree Poem by Tushar Ray

Tagore Song (293) Once, You My Dear Sat On The Root Of My Own Tree

(ekoda tumi priye amari ei torumule)

Once, you my dear sat on the root of my own tree
Dressed in flowers that you have forgotten
But there is a continued flowing river that didn't forget
With it's zigzag waves like your hair style
Only your footprints coded on river bank
Is that totally false today – did you forget
Composing that song all alone day by day
Flowing along even today the grasses wavering at them
The garland that you used to make on your upper dress
Its pleasure-touch feel like flowing nectar
Even today Fagun seek around Chompa-flower
All these are lies today - - did you forget those
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
