Tainted Imprints Poem by G J Salgado

Tainted Imprints

From the cup I began to drink,
I could feel my blood change as my heart began to sink.

Soon I was beneath what I had ingested,
Of snake's poison it injected.

Trapping itself within my skin,
Waiting for an injustice to begin.

Looking for what is real between the depths,
Reoccurring insane events are its affects.

It stained me with dirty deeds and lost derivatives,
A foul stench of death beyond offensive.

Graphic elements that anyone could appreciate,
Too far of a vendetta that I could not retaliate.

It tainted me like nothing I had ever seen,
I yearned for an anointed soul to intervene.

During the countdown of these said sentiments,
Was the deadline marked upon my fingerprints.

Soon to be wiped away among this crime,
As my heart beat for the very last time.
