Tajdeed -e-muhabbat

Tum jo hansti ho to pholon ki ada lagti ho,
or chalti ho to ik bad_e_saba lagti ho,
dono hathon main chupa laiti ho apna chehra,
mashriqi hoor ho dulhan ki haya lagti ho,
kuch na kehna mere kandhe pe jhuka kr sar ko,
kitni masom ho tasvir e wafa lagti ho,
bat krti ho to sagar se khanak jate hain,
leher ka geet ho koyal ki sada lagti ho,
kis taraf jaogi zulfon k ye badal le kr,
aj machli huvi sawan ki ghata lagti ho,
tm jise daikh lo pine ki zarurat kya hai,
zindagi bhar jo rahe aisa nasha lagti ho,
mein ne mehsos kiya tm se do baten kr k,
tm zamane main zamane se juda lagti ho

We are as clouds that veil the midnight moon;
How restlessly they speed, and gleam, and quiver,
Streaking the darkness radiantly!--yet soon
