Take A Stand Poem by Joyce Lee

Take A Stand

Take A Stand
When I take a stand one more time
I won't be knocked down... again
When I talk that talk...and walk that walk
I won't be knocked down... again
I have come to that reality
while keeping my dignity...that
freedom belongs to you and me
not like it use to be....when
men were hung....hanging from
a tree
Today when I take that stand
I have someone holding my hand
He's more than the eyes can see
He have already taken
a stand for me.
What I know now...I didn't
know then....when I was knocked
down without a stand
Yes...I let him into my life
I needed a sword to fight
fight this fight that's
a good fight...the fight of faith
It's light as a feather
can bare any weather
any day of the year.
It will help me succeed
in this world that's full
of greed.....as I hold on
to God's unchanging hands
my walk my talk
will surely take a stand.
