Take Me Poem by Colette Dright

Take Me

Take me to those precious moments in time
Where I once held you oh so close
And your lips passionately touched mine

Take me to the time when my eyes would see your face
Where we knew on sight no matter where
Our bodies would embrace
Your smell still lingers in my mind, take me back to the time

Take me to the days where I would sit on your cart
Trash can and even in your car
And get lost in the moment of just being where you are

Take me to the night when you softly kissed my breast
When I felt comfort in you arms and laid my head upon your chest
Listening to your heartbeat, I knew this love was real
Take me to no movement where time with you stood still

Take me to where I seek God and pray
Lead me Father guide my steps and show me the right way

Take me to the minute my life would forever change
And let us live in love and peace right there on Happiness Lane

Take me to where I am right now, believing in the reward
The power is in the prayer so for me the test not hard

Take me to the future where we'll be together as one
Where we'll travel and our journey will be filled with lots of fun

Joy, laughter and many great times
Yeah, take me to the day when you will be all mine

Take me to God in whom I solely trust
Take me to the time where in our world it is "Just Us"

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was at work one day and I thought about that special one. Yeah, the one that still makes my heart pitter patter and I didn't have no plain paper, so, by any means necessary, I grabbed a USA Today newspaper and on that "Take Me" was written.
