Take Me Poem by Roland Jury

Take Me

Take me down with the wine,
Take me to your street,
Take me through a smile’s recline,
To a love now obsolete.

Take me over to your side,
Take me on the beat,
Take a feeling for a ride,
And leave me incomplete.

Take me to that place so old,
Where animals retreat.
Take me within you when I’m bold,
It leaves me feeling weak.

Take me through your history,
Let your memories speak.
Take me through conspiracy,
Take me to defeat.

Take me over with your eyes,
Take me through deceit,
Take me behind all the sighs,
Then lie with him my sweet.

Take me to the future,
It could be ours to meet.
Take me under and when you’re done,
Leave nothing at my feet.

This one is memorable! Especially like the lines about 'smile's recline' and 'animals retreat'.
