Take To The Sky

I met you just last year
You were the one
I wanted to be near
To hold, to love, to kiss, to be with,
To just have around for all of my life

But you were gone,
So far away...
I couldn’t hold that precious face
I was just left with so much space
I feared I would never see you again…

Let’s take to the sky
Just take to the sky my dear
Let’s take to the sky
And just fly away from here
I wanna see your face again
And hold you in my arms
I wanna have you here with me
And soar until we’re free

You left me the other day
And I thought that I would die
I feared I wouldn’t breathe again
and watch my life pass by

A few days pass
You act like nothing happened
But I can see right through you
And can tell you’re missing me

Let’s take to the sky
Just take to the sky my dear
Let’s take to the sky
And just fly away from here
I wanna see your face again
And hold you in my arms
I wanna have you here with me
And soar until we’re free

Your soundtrack never stops playing for me
It keeps repeating
Being told all of these things
Made me want to block it all out
And never even believe
But now time has passed,
Things are better; I can’t wait to see you.

Let’s take to the sky
Just take to the sky my dear
Let’s take to the sky
And just fly away from here
I wanna see your face again
And hold you in my arms
I wanna have you here with me
And soar until we’re free

Poem of the Day

poet Robert Browning

After
by Robert Browning

Take the cloak from his face, and at first
Let the corpse do its worst!

How he lies in his rights of a man!
Death has done all death can.
