Taken Poem by Khemmie Ray

Taken

Your first impression was
The calmness of your person and
The aura you exude
That only pulls everything
To you like a magnet.

I could not forget that smell
That sent the butterflies leaping in me
I just wanted to know,
To know who walked the earth
With such pleasantness

Your confident strides
Knocked me face down
And your eloquent speech
Struck and had me glued
I wanted more!

I wondered what day God created you,
I wondered why
Your smile and everything
About you screamed PERFECT.
But you were taken!

The band around your finger
Tells the story of your person,
Alas! A wake up call,
Time to silent the butterflies
And move beyond my fantasy.
