Taken By The Beam Poem by Ethan Lawnd

Taken By The Beam

The other day
There was a odd sight
It moved in for a short stay
It manifested a bright light
What it was I can not say
It was dark as the night
There were two eyes
With them came a beam
It fed me lies
And made me scream
Breaking close ties
Burning dreams
The ones you love are dead
Taken by this horrible machine
Still the beam is in my head
Wiping my thoughts clean
Of any hopes or dreams in my bed
Turning me into something mean
Now the machine takes its leave
Stealing from me my mind
Now I will never believe
That there could have been a time
Where you and I could have achieved
Something worth a rhyme

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
There was a girl who walked away into a light of a car and I knew that we had no future after I saw her walking away.
