Jack O' Lantern of Irish lore
Tells of a devilish Jack who
Enjoyed playing mean tricks galore,
And even tricked the devil - true!
So when Jack died, heaven would not
Allow him in and sent him to hell,
Where the devil who'd not forgot
Jack's tricks said no to him as well,
And sent Jack back to Earth to roam
Just at night, lighting his way,
A hollowed carved face pumpkin dome,
With lit coal inside to display.
And still today, stuck 'twixt and 'tween,
Jack's seen roaming on Halloween.
