Year is 1562.Edward de Vere, aged 12 has been made ward of
Elizabeth 1 after the death of his father. He is sent to live with sir william cecil(lord burghley) .Edward arrives at burghley house(an elizabethan mansion) with his entourage in full pomp and ceremony.Dozens of footmen, servants and guilded carriage.Anne Cecil, aged 6 kneels on a stool and peers out through a window of the house.Such magnificence she thinks to herself. What grandeur. She is awestruck.
