Teacher’s Day,2009 Poem by Dr John Celes

Teacher’s Day,2009

What noble souls can teachers be!

They rear their students parent -like;
They teach them how to read and write;
They mould their character, conduct.

They impart knowledge from when kids;
They show the world what God has made,
Revealing beauty in all things.

They help the pupils learn by rote,
And teach them how to reason out,
And understand the world around.

They teach them sense of values, time,
And tell them what for, one is born,
Contrasting love of God and man.

They sacrifice their lives always,
And serve as role-models to some;
But some are exemplary souls!

They make the kids to become smart,
And train them to be skilled in life.
More mature grows the mind with ken!

For service done, they expect naught;
They teach until they can, no more,
And vanish silently from earth.

What noble souls can teachers be!
Children blossom to fine adults –
Responsible world citizens!

Let students thank and praise these souls
For achievements, accomplishments,
Indebted for the love thus shown!

What noble souls can teachers be!
Their service rendered is afree;
Do bless them well, O Almighty!
