Tears Of A Woman Poem by The Poet Darkling

Tears Of A Woman

Floating on the tears of a woman
Men approach the shores of life
Sons born with the sins of their father
And forgiven by his wife

Nurtured by the love of a woman
Fed on the milk of her breast
He's taught early about compassion
And forgiveness of what's confessed

Within the shelter of a woman
He learns about right and wrong
She takes upon herself his burdens
And soothes him with gentle song

Laying in the arms of a woman
Feeling her breath upon his skin
Both their hearts are beating in tandem
New life's created within

Then, much sooner than he had planned for
The time comes for her to leave
Floating on the tears of a woman
He's whisked away alone to grieve
