Teenage Fantasy Poem by Sharon Matendechere

Teenage Fantasy

When I first thought of this,
All i knew, it was just a mind tease,
Later how it increased only God knows,
Time went right past my nose.
Eventually you'd have to find out,
Right in my mind it's you I thought about,
I didn't care what about me you'd think,
Truthfully if you'd accept i'd turn pink.
How would I break it down to you,
In what way coz this was something new,
Never had I thought i'd muster enough courage,
Knowing I was young, one of little age.
I'd soon have to let go,
Lying to myself with feelings i'd never show,
Only that it would haunt me forever,
Vainly thinking how I wasn't so clever.
Each teenage dream fulfilled except,
You not feeling the same, I wouldn't accept,
Outrightly I decided to tell you anyway,
Uncaring of whatever you'd say!
