Teenage Heartbreak

Rating: 5.0

Can’t believe it ended on such a bad note
Can’t seem to swallow and it’s hard to breathe
A dry taste in your mouth and a lump in your throat
You find yourself asking, “Why did he have to leave? ”
Still feel the warmth you felt when he hugged you
Still hear his voice when you close your eyes
Still see his smile when you really don’t want to
Still feel the pain of his very last goodbye
You can’t get crushed if you don’t take the risk
But there’s a downside to that plan
Looking back on all the love you missed
Because you never took a chance.
