Temptation Poem by azmat naushad asif

Temptation

A pain so fine
Woven in delight
Delicate as a drop
It breaks before a fall

A flicker ignited
A blaze so huge
Devouring itself
And leaving only ruins

Fragile feelings turned
Into heaving sighs
Silky caress of temptation
Strangulating inside

In turmoil
The grinded heart
To escape for a bit
And bathe in delight

Emotions running
Softly into ecstasy
Nothing to break the flow
But only a trembling conscience
Refusing to show

I didn't go to the tree
The sapling came to me
Offering me the morsel
Of the tempting Red bite

Should I or shouldn't I
Take this painful plunge?
But Then,
I had to let go of
Happiness,
Clutched in both my hands.
