The Eclipse Is Too Long Poem by azmat naushad asif

The Eclipse Is Too Long

The goddess moves across the sky
Her silver beam tresses divine
Entangles the sights and senses
Sometimes she hides behind her
Veil of the silver linen clouds
And sometimes she sneaks a peek
The stars embroidered in the black
Gown of the night which she dons
She waits to be one with her love
Whose mirror is she, reflecting
Her lover's glare.
She pines for him,

Without whom she would be
Engulfed In darkness infinite,
Her existence would cease to matter.
She waits for the time when
She would succumb in its arms.
Till the judgement day arrives,
She waits and weeps for the sun
