Temptation's Frankness Poem by Aladdin Dee Skyes

Temptation's Frankness

Rating: 5.0

Many of evenings are spent
Cents sent one way, hours lent
Wasted on malevolence, festerment
Blackening intents; on the brink of repent I bent
Banished my sense and went

Fink’s instincts
Did cling intrinsically
Conquered easily, in a blink
Took rein, as I waned, now I sink
Strained senses, leave nothing but think

Strewn with pain
This fane bloated with stain
As black rain came
With fain I became insane
I watched the blotches remain

Through washes, through watches
Entertained to swash, to swap
From wrist to clock to cop with slosh
Black balked, ostracized talk
To caulk away any chance of being caught

Dialogue would reveal, at mach
Squeal intentions, all too real
Although, from here it seemed surreal
Gradually instilled, I believe bereave to be in seed
Rotten fruit, no longer in need of season

This reason has birthed a plead
To bleed for treason
From mutiny to grievance
Woefully I replay the recent
A natural wealth from accretion

In stealth I practiced
The percussive ploy of propagandists
To destroy a consumptive world
Fed by conjunctive busses
Yet like a small boy I only caused fusses

Futile attempts, in vain
Motile souls content
Potential contempts slayed
Swayed away to stay the same
Without communication what's to gain

Now with black around
I peer for peers, with sound
Alone I found, I’m surrounded
Abound evil afoot, to bound innocence
Redound small incidents, and feed like a hound

Temptation’s three headed beast
Swoons playfully
A joke for a protector
To place in front of a door
Reverse psychology, implores

Behind the hinged board is a party
Unlike one ever seen before
Indeed in this festive anything can be
For the small price of taking a creed
Today on out I live for envy and greed

Once said aloud, pockets quickly empty
In shrouds others become angry
Which spreads like gangrene
Behind screens, suites beget war scenes
At my front I open my eyes and expose with light

With all of my might
My wit and insight
I’ve done sinful things
But I remember forgetting feeling disgusting
It must be the dark that shades the shame

Lighting, Searching, scouring,
Inwardly rehearsing memories
Reversing the sands bewilderingly
Cursing these hands wildly
Wishing to take control of rhetoric at least

Wielding my fears dearest to me
Fist clinched, seething, tearing
Mirroring a kneeling bat from the ceiling
I clear my throat
feeling vertigo

Appearing near to me
I see a man from my knees
His tender eyes speak mercifully
With coryza apparent from the difficulty to breath
I ask the man with holes before his falangy

I come to thee, a pariah
Humbled at your feet
I’ve tasted dark treats with my saliva
But no longer do I wish to eat
In lieu I beg, please forgive me my Messiah
