Temptations Poem by Vuyani Brown Mnisi

Temptations

Rating: 2.7

Words find me in love with two souls
Fidelity confines me in drought like a dying rose
Her fragrance smells so sweet, I clutter my nose
Desperate to preserve the current river
Fading with subtle holes
Roses of my heart blossom no longer from one root
A beautiful stronger branch stretched and formed an intimate noose
How strong and disturbing this strife
Only to be satisfied by the forbidden fruit
Death of a man’s smile comes like this
His downfall often comes in a form of bliss
Fruit from another garden precedes rabble
And blessed is He more incredulous than a fable
For He finds no temptation in His day nor curves in His way
