Testing

He heard the word sound but was sorry it was said
For some unknown reason, the blade fell and he lay dead

Yet as his head rolled off the block and his eyes looked upward
He saw that the catch critical had not been turned inward

He should have checked for himself before entering the contraption
And known in matters of life and death you can rarely trust anyone.
