Thank You Dear... Poem by Julia West (julesx 64)

Thank You Dear...

Manufacturered,
Old, some new,
Obsolete - forgotten,
Emblems proud - unoticed,
Reliable and dependable,
Destined to be available in all weathers

Thin - Small,
Some large - even come in two's,
Secured on walls, - on lamposts rural,

Grafittied - some abused,
Ignored
Adored,

Catalogued,
Location on a map grid reference,
Comanding a Network of admiring Fans
Sought out and photographed,
Some sadly - discovered no longer there,

Mostly Looked at - but not seen,
Unappreciated for the beauty they possess,
Regularly visited by
individuals whose duty it is to service 'just another pick up'
As personnel weave their planned collection journey's.

Look not only with your eyes - but your heart also,
The brightness of their colour,
Different types of Emblem, Some plain, some quite artistic,
Some quite rare in number.
Feel the sadness, as a victim to spray can is seen,
Cringing in the sunlight as vandals left scars behind.

Thank you Dear Letterbox,
Those old and new,
For the often unseen, but Loyal service you provide.
