Thank You God For All The Cracker Jack Prizes

thank you God for all the cracker jack prizes
unexpected dollars in the grass
the shade of trees on blistering afternoons

the serene tune over the loudspeakers
that interrupts the tirade
the unexpected parade

and double rainbows
somewhere in the world appearing
even while I am fearing, fearful

for the next day, next hour and cannot sleep
for thinking what may be without my dower of gold
and then I see your rose explosions

in the skies behind the trees
for me? I say in deep surprise
for me?

and You, answer me in
shifting it all to peach.
