Thanks

sonnet #10
thanks

grateful for meaning i can breathe
thankful too for this life itself
because i gave i can receive
that given returns to me

that received i could not demand
for it was freely given me
a love that i could not command
reciprocating set me free

show thanks by using it fully
as an artist loves his brushes
i must embrace it joyfully
love the gift that cleans me, washes

that in life just ordinary
is now for us that most worthy.
