That I May Live Again

The ugliness of sin’s dark face
It’s vile and grotesque sound
The evil smell of life’s disgrace
When in one’s heart it’s found

Lord free me of this wicked stench
Cleanse me of every wrong
Give strength to break the devil’s clench
That I may sing love’s song

Let love be in let love be out
Let love be in-between
Consume the hate and foolish doubt
Let wisdom intervene

Receive this prayer on bended knee
Accept my sinful soul
Come in my heart Lord set me free
And guide me to my goal

Let knowledge quench my feeble mind
Let empathy increase
To help my neighbours lost and blind
Receive eternal peace

Remove the ice cold hands of death
In Jesus’ name I cry
Bestow to me Your Liquid Breathe
Your promise not to die

What wondrous peace in knowing You
Such strength within Your hand
The hope and faith to have in view
Your splendid promised land

I thank You for the life of Christ
But oh my God the pain
For me my Lord was sacrificed
That I may live again
