That Money Can Have It's Downside Poem by Francis Duggan

That Money Can Have It's Downside

That money can have it's downside there can be little doubt
Often the better traits of humanity to wealth and fame does lose out
And sadly even our Earth Mother is losing out to human greed
Which does seem a very sad thing to say indeed
That money can corrupt as a truism remain
Suppose this in itself is not hard to explain
In a World that at the expense of others criminals great wealth do attain
Those who have the influence of money great power stand to gain
Those who have lots of money great power does pursue
That it does speak every language happens to be true
not every wealthy person is selfish but why even pretend
That all wealthy people to charitable causes are a good friend
The generous and compassionate among the wealthy are known to be rare
With those who are poor most of them never share.
