That Others Understand

These lines are for my Saviour’s sake
Rising on Heaven’s Wing
For helping others flee hell’s lake
And glorify my King

I’m saved by grace my heart’s washed pure
My precious soul is free
In Jesus Christ I’m more than sure
The Promised Land to see

One day The Lord will come again
Perhaps He’s called me home
Yet let our time be not in vain
Consider now this poem

Beyond the tomb before times end
Between the then and now
Consider Christ your knee to bend
Your wayward head to bow

I too was nimble, young and well
A slave to sin a while
Until I saw the doors of hell
And Satan’s wicked smile

I heard The Truth and saw The Light
I felt The Father’s love
I bade The Lord renew my sight
And lead The Way above

Not always was it easy though
Not always free of fault
But always ready seed to sow
Or sprinkle Heaven’s Salt

I’m truly glad to do my best
Through Jesus’ loving hand
To you I write whilst richly blessed
Hoping You’ll understand
