That's Just What Mothers Do Poem by Alice Cole

She makes you laugh
Through your tears
She comforts all your
Silent fears
You know she’ll always be there
For you
She’s gonna care
That’s just what mothers do

She’ll hold your heart
Now and forever
She won’t let you go
No, never
And you’ll scream and shout
In fits of rage
But each time you ask for forgiveness
She’ll turn a new page
She’ll forgive and forget
That’s just what mothers do

She’ll show your path
Through darkness and light
She’ll hold your hand
All through the night
You’ll laugh and play
And cry together too
She’ll be your friend
That’s just what mothers do
