'' That's What We Are Now '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' That's What We Are Now ''

Our desire to explore,
Could become a chore,
When we come to our day of reckoning,
Regardless of what, we always want more,
The truth my friend is beckoning.

Is there a Heaven and Hell?
Who can tell,
As their guests have never returned,
Or are they but a human spell,
Designed to get our fingers burned.

Is there a God?
Is Satan a fraud?
Invented to keep humans under control,
If they're real, which one do we laud,
Ask yourself what is a soul.

Are some aware,
There is life out there,
If they've met why don't they just say,
Are they really that bad we need to beware,
Do they come in green or grey?

Our imagination,
Feeds exhilaration,
Don't believe in all that you're told,
Liars were born to cause aggravation,
Some of them would leave you cold.

Do we live and die?
Does love really apply,
Or are we pawns in another's mind,
Do we have free will or are we forced to comply?
Sometimes to the facts we are blind.

If in our Universe so vast,
What we observe is the past,
As through multiple galaxies we plough,
Could the cold reality leave us aghast?
Is it possible?
