I remember when I was a little girl
I loved the Sears ‘n Roebuck Book
I’d turn it to the toys and I
Loved nearly every page I’d look
Especially the doll houses
Oh, such a fantasy world for me
I’d go off in make-believe
As I would create a little family
Another thing that caught my eye
Since my brother and I played a lot
Was a red cowgirl outfit and hat
Something that I never got
But that was okay, you see
The doll-house we made ourselves
Out of a card-board box it was
And tiny little pieces for shelves
I guess kids today will never know
How exciting it is to look
At things that they would never have
In that fancy Sears ‘n Roebuck Book!
